Watch Gina Carano’s "Haywire": Sex Is Like Fighting

Gina Carano appeared on Conan to talk about her movie Haywire, which opens today. Her appearance on Conan followed both her formula and Conan’s: She bit her lip and smiled and talked about everything you want to hear (sex, drinking, fighting) without ever actually saying anything. Conan acted awkward around a pretty girl. It was great fun for everyone, especially bloggers hoping to cash in on her Google search traffic today by putting the words “Gina Carano,” “sex,” and “watch” together in one headline.

Before she became a Hollywood movie star, rubbing elbows with a couple of A-list actors in her upcoming "Haywire" feature film, Carano was "the face of women's MMA," as well as the Strikeforce champion in the ladies' 145-pound division.

Until the day she ran headfirst into a Brazilian roadblock named Cristiane Santos.

The great thing about going to see Gina Carano's Haywire movie, which opens in theaters nationwide on Jan. 20, 2012, is that even if you don't like the film, you're still entitled to almost two hours of gratuitous ogling of the former mixed martial arts (MMA) champion.

Haywire tells the story of Mallory Kane (Carano), a super-secret spy recruited by her former boss (McGregor) to do "one last job" for a faceless organization. As the film unfolds, she finds herself betrayed and on the run, not sure who to trust as she chop-sockys her way back onto U.S. soil.

Fight scenes, inevitable when your leading role is embodied by a professional cage-fighter, never overstep the boundaries defined in a legitimate combat sports competition. Wire work is nonexistent and editing is done primarily in long shots.

The result is a film of remarkable appeal.
