President Barack Obama was devastated by the tragic events that occurred Friday night in Colorado, Denver. A shooting rampage that occurred during the series premiere of Batman movie "The Dark Knight Rises" is really a big tragedy.
There are 12 people who died at the scene and dozens of others sustained injuries due to gunfire that made James Holmes. The spectators who come to enjoy the movie had no idea if there is a audience stylish as an enemy of Batman, "The Joker" and strictly adhere to the crime.Three Indonesian citizens living in Colorado go to the victim. Situmeang family happened to be in the audience who watched the premiere of the Batman film series.
President Obama immediately declared that tragic event as a national day of mourning. He ordered government buildings to raise the flag at half mast in honor of the victims.
There are at least two lessons to be learned from bitter experience. First, how not all of the film's message is received correctly by the audience. All action movies actually want to convey the message that crime is as good as anything else will inevitably be defeated by the truth.
But from the incident in Colorado, we see that people like Holmes did not imitate the attitude of the knight of Batman. He would follow the lead of the Joker to be the bad guys who hurt other people.
Holmes's behavior is really not just like the Joker. Even in prison he was acting strange to always spit on anyone. Provoke resentment that crazy attitude of many people.
The second lesson, what a firearm in the end more harm than good. Even the American people even question the person's right to have weapons in order to maintain her safety.
Holmes has a legitimate weapon. He bought the gun complete with the letters are legitimate and licensed by the state. But the weapon was not used to keep himself from the threat, but rather to harm others.
Not long ago we were faced with the debate over whether civilians should own guns. The legislation that we have allowed certain parties to own guns and use them.
We tend to argue that the policy is too excessive. Should we remove these rules and prevent any civilians to be able to possess and use firearms.
We have seen the excesses of possession of firearms by civilians. Various acts of crime that happens always use firearms. There have been many victims who fell from the use of a firearm that is not true.
We better strengthen the police to maintain security and order. Task of the police to create safe and secure atmosphere in the community. Role of the community simply by reporting things that disrupts public order and then let the police finish.
We are always sorry when a tragic event has occurred. But we tend to forget after the event passed. In fact we never want to seriously examine the ownership of firearms by civilians.
Brutal shootings in Colorado we hope to open the eyes of us all. That anyone can be evil when it's holding a gun. Higher education does not guarantee anything when people are not mentally prepared to have a firearm.
