Mark Davis' role in Oakland Raiders

Mark Davis has done a terrific job in his role after taking over as the owner of the Oakland Raiders. Mark Davis is always around the team, but he has trusted others to do their jobs. He let Hue Jackson coach the team and Davis’ quick decision to hire Green Bay executive Reggie McKenzie is another indication that he will trust others to perform their duties.

He has also been advised by many of his father’s former trusted lieutenants such as Ken Herock, John Madden and Ron Wolf. Wolf and Herock recommended McKenzie and Davis acted almost as quickly as he could to hire him. McKenzie is expected to start the job next week.

The announcement comes directly after David hired Reggie McKenzie as the team’s new GM and after the firing of coach Hue Jackson.

Davis says with McKenzie in charge he will now focus his energy on getting his team out of the outdated Oakland Coliseum and into a new home.

Davis’ motivations are in the right place, stadiums with newer amenities are able to generate higher revenues.

If the team is not able to secure an immediate home of their own in Oakland or Los Angeles team CEO Amy Trask has already talked ot the San Francisco 49ers about sharing a stadium in Santa Clara.
